John F. Carroll (born 1932-died 1969) is one of the 16 undisputedly recorded people (15 undisputedley recorded man) in the medical histroy to have stood at the height of eight feet or more. John F. Carroll suffered from severe, 2-dimensional spinal curvature (Kyphoscoliosis) and acromegalic gigantism.
He could only stand upto 244 centimeters (8 feet 0 inches) as of October 14, 1959, but his height would have been 263.5 centimeters (8 feet 7.75 inches), assuming normal curvature of the spine. He was later measured at only 2.39 eters (7 feet 10.5 inches) in 1968; he had shrunk in stature due to his bad spinal condition according to Guiness. Shortly before John F. Carroll's death in 1969 his standing height shrunk to only 2.34 meters (7 feet 8.25 inches). His corrected height has never been recorded,but is assumed to be near nine-feet.
